I would like to express my sincere appreciation for Heema Hospital in our state capital Itanagar( AP). The hospital provides excellent facilities, state-of-the-art medical equipment, high-quality treatment, and is staffed with well-educated and dedicated professionals. During my recent admission in Room No. 1020, I experienced the utmost care and attention from the nursing staff. Their compassion and professionalism were truly commendable. However, I would like to kindly bring to your attention a small concern regarding the nurses' uniforms. It appears that the current design may not reflect the overall high standards of the hospital. If possible, I respectfully request that the uniforms be reviewed and updated to enhance the appearance and overall presentation of your esteemed staff.

This is the only private hospital in Itanagar. Please ensure that the basic needs of the hospital and it’s patients are met. There is no proper seating area for patients visiting the gynecologist, skin specialist, or venereologist. Most of the seats are rusted, damaged, and uncomfortable to sit on, as many are unstable or broken. One single fan is not sufficient for 30–40 people, especially in this hot weather. At the very least, please install proper seating and air conditioning. We expect a private hospital to maintain a better standard right now, it feels worse than a government facility. Take inspiration from NIBA Hospital.

On 25th Sept’ 23, we waited for the doctor (Dr Ahmed, Gynaecologist) since 10:30am as that was the time given to us. His attendant/ nurse could not tell us when he’d come in. After a wait of 3 hours, he finally entered his cabin and started seeing patients. On our turn, we went in. We wished him and showed him the reports. He dismissed them saying it’s a very common occurrence in women and asked us to come again after a month for another ultrasound. On trying to ask him a few questions to clarify certain things he said, he got visibly irritated and raised the tone of his voice and spoke rudely. It seemed he did not want us wasting a minute of his time whereas we were hardly there for 3 minutes. So we left, having already decided not to come back to him again. Besides the unpleasant visit to this particular doctor, the hospital itself is very dirty. The corridor were we sat at, while waiting, had over 3-4 layers of linoleum flooring, all tattered and the concrete floor exposed. The dirty toilet floor was flooded with water. And the drinking water dispenser was right next to the toilet door. There were so many pregnant women, all waiting for the doctor, who had no option but to use the toilet in that state. Cleanliness and general hygiene is lacking. These are the basics any hospital/ medical facility should prioritise. Most of the staff interact with patients rudely. They don’t seem to have gone through basic training on how to speak/ interact with patients.and visitors.

•No CMAAY card accepted! •Infrastructure Restoration Needed! •Expensive room charges per night! •Impolite staff! •Unethical nurses trio at the INJECTION ROOM! •No Lift facilities! •Limited Paid-Parking! •Money minting mindset! √The CMAAY is an insurance policy which offers cashless treatment and reduces the financial strain on the patient's families. It would be better if the hospital continues this service once again. ✓The hospital is congested not because of people but the building itself is small. Not well planned! Need serious restoration, especially for the wheel chair accessibility. The current pathway for wheel chair is very scary and I'm sure it will lead to some patients falling down and getting hurt in the near future. ✓The room charges are sky high. Making it more affordable for everyone would be great. No need for Delux suite in a hospital. ✓The ladies at the cashier/counter/reception/font desk are known for being rude and has a tone of not very welcoming voice. Some nurses and other staff are also known to have been rude to others. ✓My mom was administered a different person's injection by the 3 nurse at the INJECTION ROOM. They didn't care to check the prescription and call out the name before injecting. My elder sister (who works as lab technician in TRIHMS) was furious and gave them some hearing. She even reported the incident to the doctor who prescribed the medicine. I bet the doctor scolded them really good. We could have sued the entire hospital, but agreed not to because we were already pretty upset with our mom's critical condition. ✓The hospital stands 5-6 floor below the road level and entrance. The USG and MRI centre are at the lowest level below. Imagine having to walk up and down through stairs and wheel chair path taking the patient multiple times. Lift should be installed for the convenience of the patients as well as general public. ✓There was no parking floor before, it's good that they made space for parking now. But the whole parking floor is not yet operational, so they need to complete it. Paid parking for hospital sounds absurd as we are already paying for the patient and everything. ✓Hospitals are to serve mankind. The doctors and nurses are sworn to protect and put forth any person's life before any profits and gains. As soon as a patient with critical condition like my mom comes in, they see us as their money minting machines. I'm saying this for all the others hospital in general. Universal health care system should be adopted like Norway, Denmark, Belarus etc. I wouldn't mind paying high tax or GST upto 35% in exchange for free health care. After all those test, repeated test and 1.5 lacs bill later the hospital says "we don't have the right equipment and means to treat the patient, take him to APOLLO HOSPITAL, Gauhati." They should have said so earlier didn't they? This money minting mindset should be stopped!
